The manufacturing process of paper products is diverse and complex. Taking cardboard boxes as an example, the production process typically includes multiple steps such as cardboard cutting, printing, die-cutting, folding, and gluing. First, large rolls of cardboard are cut to the designed dimensions to obtain cardboard sheets of the required size. Next, patterns and text are printed onto the cardboard using printing equipment, including offset printing, flexographic printing, and gravure printing. Different printing methods are suitable for different printing effects and cost requirements. Then, a die-cutting machine is used to cut the cardboard into a specific shape, forming the unfolded shape of the cardboard box. Finally, through folding and gluing processes, the cardboard is folded into the three-dimensional shape of the cardboard box and securely glued. For some high-end paper products, such as exquisite gift boxes, processes such as lamination, hot stamping, and embossing are also used to enhance their appearance and quality.

Reprocessing raw paper yields paper with a more exquisite appearance and superior performance; many processed papers are themselves exquisite works of art.

Common paper processing methods include calendering, hammering, powdering, sizing, waxing, dyeing, printing, embossing, guilloché, gold sprinkling, gold and silver embellishment, insect protection, and oiling. One of these methods can be chosen during processing. Sometimes these methods are used alone, multiple methods can be chosen, and sometimes they are used in combination.
